Description

Replaces 750W-1000W Metal Halide Area Lighting | 45,000 Lumens at 300W | 4000K/5000K/6500K Selectable | DLC Premium | Bronze

This 300W LED shoebox parking lot light gives contractors one field-configurable fixture for multiple commercial area-lighting applications. Switch 1 selects 200W, 240W, or 300W. Switch 2 selects 4000K, 5000K, or 6500K. A slip fitter, round pole arm mount, square pole arm mount, and trunnion mount are all included, so there is no separate mounting accessory to order before the crew reaches the jobsite.

Key Features

  • All four mounts included: slip fitter, round pole arm, square pole arm, and trunnion. Pick the bracket after inspecting the pole, not before ordering.
  • Switchable wattage: 200W, 240W, or 300W set on the fixture. Stock one part number instead of three.
  • Switchable color temperature: 4000K Cool White, 5000K Daylight, or 6500K set at installation to match the project spec.
  • DLC Premium listed: may qualify for utility rebates.
  • Field-installable sensor port: unscrew the sealed cover and add a photocell or motion sensor later without replacing the fixture.
  • 120-277V input with 0-10V dimming for commercial lighting controls.

Metal Halide and HID Retrofit

This fixture is commonly used to replace 750W and 1000W metal halide and high pressure sodium shoebox and area light heads. At the 300W setting it produces 45,000 lumens, with 36,000 at 240W and 30,000 at 200W. Because all four brackets are included, most retrofits can reuse the existing pole.

Do not select an LED replacement on HID wattage alone. One-for-one suitability depends on the existing fixture output, optical distribution, pole height, pole spacing, and the maintained light levels the site requires. Use the IES photometric file or a lighting layout to confirm fixture quantity, wattage, and optic before committing to a large retrofit. IES files for all three distributions are available on request.

Dark Bronze Finish

Dark bronze is the standard finish for commercial parking lot and roadway lighting. It matches the majority of existing steel and aluminum poles, hides road film and staining in dusty or high-traffic environments, and is the default on most municipal and commercial specifications.

Four Mounting Options Included

Every fixture ships with all four brackets. Each provides 180 degrees of aiming adjustment with a hex key, and the supply wire routes through the bracket arm rather than an external whip.

  • Slip fitter mount: slides over a 2-3/8 inch OD pole tenon and allows the fixture angle to be set. The standard choice for top-of-pole parking lot and roadway retrofits with an existing tenon.
  • Round pole arm mount: side-mounts to a compatible round pole near the top. The arm positions the fixture away from the pole and the head aims independently. Wire passes through the arm into the pole.
  • Square pole arm mount: side-mounts flush to a compatible square steel or aluminum pole. Remove the side cover with a screwdriver to pass wire through.
  • Trunnion mount: yoke bracket for walls, building facades, and other flat structural surfaces. Used for building perimeters, loading areas, and sites without a lighting pole.

Fasteners for the pole or wall are not included, and drill patterns vary between pole manufacturers. Confirm the tenon size, pole diameter or width, and existing pattern before ordering.

Selectable Wattage and Output

Switch 1 sets the power level. Use 300W for large lots, higher mounting heights, and full metal halide replacement. Use 240W or 200W where connected load is capped, where a utility program requires a lower draw, or where pole spacing is tight. Because the setting changes on the fixture, one part number covers several project conditions and can be configured at install. Base the final selection on the project specification and photometric requirements rather than on the HID wattage being removed.

Selectable Color Temperature

Switch 2 sets the color temperature. 4000K Cool White reads warmer and is common where an ordinance or HOA limits blue content. 5000K Daylight is the most common commercial parking lot specification. 6500K Super Daylight gives the coolest, highest-contrast appearance. Confirm the required CCT against the project specification and any applicable local lighting ordinance before commissioning.

Type III, IV, and V Optics

Type III is standard. It projects light forward and outward from the pole and suits parking lot aisles, drive lanes, roadways, and perimeter poles. Average beam angle is approximately 112 degrees.

Type IV (approximately 114 degrees) is used along building perimeters and property edges where light has to be held back on one side. Type V (approximately 127 degrees) is a broader symmetrical distribution for open lots and center-mounted poles. Type IV and Type V are optional configurations and are special order (additional charge).

Sensors and Lighting Controls

The fixture ships with a sealed breather plug in the sensor port. To add controls, unscrew the cover and install a compatible sensor using the onboard connector - the complete fixture does not have to be replaced. PIR and microwave occupancy sensors are available, including Bluetooth models that program from a phone app, plus compatibility with Haisen Blue, GEBC, and Keilton networked control systems.

A photocell provides dusk-to-dawn operation. An occupancy sensor reduces output when the area is unoccupied and restores the selected output on motion, which is how most municipal and campus energy codes are satisfied. Sensors, controllers, and networked-control accessories are sold separately - contact us for the right part number for your control system.

Before You Order

Confirm the voltage at the pole base. This fixture is 120-277V. Contact us if your site is 347V or 480V.

Confirm the pole. The slip fitter fits a 2-3/8 inch OD tenon. For arm mounts, verify pole shape, diameter or width, existing drill pattern, and structural condition. All four brackets are included, but compatibility with every existing pole or drill pattern cannot be assumed, and fasteners for the pole are not included.

Confirm the optic. Type III ships standard. Specify Type IV or Type V if the project requires a different distribution - these are not stocked configurations.

Confirm pole loading. Contact us for the EPA and total mounted weight before finalizing pole selection. Fixture weight is 14.1 lbs excluding mounts, and wind load requirements vary by jurisdiction - this matters most in coastal and high-wind zones.

Confirm controls. The sensor port ships plugged. Photocells, motion sensors, and networked controllers are sold separately and must be matched to your control system.

Confirm the layout on larger projects. Use verified photometric data rather than HID wattage equivalence when determining fixture count, wattage setting, and pole spacing.

What Is Included

LED fixture with integrated driver, wattage selector switch, CCT selector switch, standard Type III optic, slip fitter mount, round pole arm mount, square pole arm mount, trunnion mount, breather plug installed in the sensor port, and installation instructions.

What Is Not Included

Pole, pole tenon, mounting-surface fasteners, photocell, motion sensor, programmable or networked controller, Type IV optic, and Type V optic. These are ordered separately unless specifically stated on the order.

Installation

Installation and service must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local requirements. Disconnect power before beginning. Confirm the supply voltage, mounting surface, and structural capacity before attaching the fixture.

Supply wiring is standard color code: black to line, white to neutral, green to ground. Route the supply through the selected bracket, reinstall the side cover with its waterproof pad, and seal all wiring openings to maintain the outdoor rating. Set the wattage and color temperature switches, aim the fixture per the project layout, and fully tighten the adjustment hardware once positioned.
