Porcelain Keyless Lamp-holder | 4KV Pulse Rated

The Leviton 8756-2 is a one-piece, keyless, glazed ceramic porcelain light socket rated for HID lamps up to 400W and a single circuit. It has a pulse rating of 4KV and is back wired for secure installation. Made from nickel-plated copper alloy with stainless steel center coil springs, this lampholder is white in color. It has 600 volts and 1500 watts maximum wattage rating and can be used with mogul base lamps.

Installing the Leviton 8756-2 replacement mogul socket base may seem daunting, but with a few simple steps and the right tools, you can easily update your DIY project. Learn how to install a mogul socket base to light up any room in your home.
 

Turn of the power and shut off the breaker

Before starting any electrical project, you must make sure that the power is turned off and the breaker switch is shut off. Shut off electricity to the room by flipping off the circuit breaker located in your home’s main fuse box. Then use a voltage tester to confirm that there is no power to the area where you plan to work.
 

Wire the socket base to match your circuit diagram and make all necessary connections

Once you’re sure that power is off, it’s time to wire the E39 socket base. Connect the black lead from the socket to the hot feed, the white lead to the neutral connection, and if applicable, connect a green or bare copper ground. Refer to an appropriate circuit diagram to properly identify and make all necessary connections. Make sure all wires are connected securely with electricians pliers. After all wires are connected, go ahead and install the Mogul lamp base into the light fixture.

I placed a very large order for light pole globes and received a reasonable price because my order was able to be shipped on pallets. Thank you LBS! There were issues with the production line that was producing my globes, so my order was delayed more than a month. I can understand why my order was delayed, and that the delay was out of Light Bulb Surplus's control. What I cannot accept is that it took me, not LBS, following up on my order to find this out. The responsibility should rest with LBS, not the customer, and then it was up to me to continue to follow up on my order, until it finally shipped.
